SMYSC is working to extend the opportunities available to our local children.  SMSYC currently hosts three seasons of youth soccer: summer, fall and spring.  Summer is our most basic entry point and available to our widest age range of kids.  Fall and spring recreational league programs participate in a league that covers Grays Harbor, Lewis, Thurston and Mason county.  Recreational play means that there is no tryout requirement, no attendance requirement and an overall lower commitment level than select or premier programs.  Currently the closest competitive opportunities are in Tumwater and Lacey.  We are working with our neighboring premier partners to be able to offer a premier team opportunity here in Shelton.  We need coaches, assistant coaches, and team parents to support the addition of this option to our organization.  Competitive play does require a significant amount of commitment in both time and money.  Games are played from Vancouver to Bellingham primarily along the I-5 corridor.  Registration cost vary by organization and start in the thousands of dollars and can increase from their.
