Fall Youth Rec Soccer 2024 - Fall 2024

Join the South Mason Youth Soccer Club, a volunteer-driven community sports club! Our goal is to provide a safe and fun environment for the boys and girls of Mason County to develop their soccer skills and love of the game.

We are announcing the opening of our Fall 2024 Soccer programs. Registration is open, and we encourage you to get involved and register all the players for our fall program. Our volunteers, who coach or fill open club roles and board positions, are offered a coupon to cover registration for our programs.

Our Fall programs include two different offers:

  • For players born between 2016 and 2006, we offer a league program that competes in either the Thurston County Youth Soccer Association (TCYSA) or the Grays Harbor Foothills Youth Soccer Association (GHYSA).
  • For players born between 2020 and 2017, we offer our junior soccer program, which runs from September to October and is focused on developing skills for younger players.

It is important to note that we do require proof of age to be submitted for each player - if we already have it from previous years you do not need to submit again.

Our regular registration program will run from July 8th, through July 29th. Due to our focus on keeping team sizes small, we will add players to a waitlist on our Late Registration from July 29th to September 6. Our league games will start September 7th and run through October 27, 2024.

Building off last year’s success, we will ask our fall teams to register and compete in the Rec Cup in November. We saw two teams go very far into the tournament last year, and it was a great experience for all involved.

As a club, we rely on this community for volunteers. Our coaches, park operations, and board are all filled by volunteers. If you have any interest in coaching, please register early so we can avoid all the last-minute arm twisting.

Your contribution will be invaluable in keeping our soccer club and park running smoothly. If you're interested in making a difference and becoming a volunteer, you can also register here.

Take advantage of this incredible soccer journey with South Mason Youth Soccer Club. Register now, and let's kick off another incredible soccer season together!

Remember, league registration will be closed July 29, 2024, so secure your spot today!

What is Summer Soccer like?

Summer soccer focus on fun outdoor play.  Parents lead a "team" of players against other teams in evening games Monday through Thursday.  You are able to choose between Monday/Wednesday schedule or a Tuesday/Thursday schedule.  There is no structured or organized player development during Summer Soccer.

What is Fall/Spring league soccer like?

Fall and spring season are a traditional local travel team competition environment.  It is a recreational league, meaning that there are no tryout and that all participants will share playing time equitably.  We have volunteer coaches who do a great job balancing competition and playing opportunity.  Travel should be expected to Grays Harbor, Thurston, Lewis, and Mason county area teams.  League play begins for kids under 10 and extends to high school players.  We encourage kids to be around 8 years old to enter league play.

What is Fall/Spring Super Mod?

Super Mod is offered to kids around the ages 5-8 and is a local developmental program preparing kids to enter league play.  It is a recreational league, meaning that there are no tryout and that all participants will share playing time equitably.  Parents volunteer to help kids using the play-practice-play model to develop individual soccer skills while performing activities with a soccer ball.  Super Mod ends with a jamboree in which all teams compete against each other.

Volunteer Positions Available link

As with any youth or volunteer organization, we could always use your help.  We have lots of hands willing to contribute but managers are always in need.  Please contact the club secretary or president for more information.  Some of the current openings are:

  • Park Host
  • Snack Shack Manager
  • Youth Program Manager
  • Coaches!!!  New teams every year.

All positions are 100% volunteer, no payment of any kind is issued for any position.

Are you looking for more competition?

Competitive soccer is found in the select/premier programs.  These programs have tryouts and focus on competition and player development.  Licensed coaches volunteer to help guide teams through training and compete against other teams in Western Washington.  Travel should be expected between Vancouver and Bellingham primarily along the I-5 corridor.  Competition start for kids 10 and older.
